I have been very fortunate to have done a fair bit of work for www.funkyhampers.com. They are a business also based in Eastbourne and they supply 'Exclusive Gifts For Exclusive People'. I love their products, there is an amazing amount of edible quirky gifts that are really different, perfect for someone you know with a sweet tooth who has a birthday or who you need a gift for. They are definitely just the shop to browse and definitely funky.
I initially designed a range of personalised sweet jar labels for them, Easter, Birthday, Father's Day, Get Well Soon, New Baby, Teacher, Christmas, Wine and Beer and more, a complete mix of different occasions. I LOVE this work, so much fun, bright, colourful, much like the sweets and chocolate.
I have recently redesigned the logo for FunkyHampers.com. What a nice job, it was a privilege to be entrusted with working on this design as your logo or your brand is the identity for your business and so important to be right. It needs to say the right thing about you and what you do. FunkyHampers.com wanted an icon that could be used alone, with a new typeface for Funky Hampers and their strap line 'Exclusive Gifts For Exclusive People', whilst retaining the purple colour used in the previous logo and across their website.
Lots of rough doodles and sketches to think of an icon that sums up FunkyHampers.com. That's how a logo design starts for me anyway. Pen and paper. My brain in design mode. Think, research, doodle, create/design, draw up, usually in Adobe Illustrator. Not all the doodles make the final cut. Sometimes it's good to see what doesn't work. I normally present a few options, anything between four and eight ideas to a client.
After doing all of the above, the chosen design reflects the fact FunkyHampers.com sell gifts and the font just had the right feel, professional and unique without being too quirky. The logo was launched alongside the redevelopment of their website.
Check out the website www.funkyhampers.com with the new logo and take a peek at all the fantastic gifts. Sweet. Thanks FunkyHampers.com!
